A 60-second pre-impact unguided exposure by Clif Ashcraft on May 12, 2005 using an SBIG ST-2000XCM taken at the f/6 focus of a 12.3-inch Newtonian. The comet is about 13th magnitude, and it shows a noticeable coma and a small tail.
