Jenny Jump State Forest is home to the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey,
Inc. (UACNJ). Located near Hope, New Jersey in Warren County, the site is one
of the few dark sky locations left in the state. The UACNJ observatory at
Jenny Jump has a 16-inch Newtonian telescope.
Under construction are five other observatories. One of these is being built by AAI members. Items remaining to be accomplished are: interior wall paneling and painting, a small amount of electrical wiring, and a compete exterior top coat of paint. We have purchased a Celestron 14-inch Sshmidt-Cassegrain telescope and we have adapted a G/11 German equatorial mount which has been installed on a concrete pier. The telescope has been installed and has been used, however, it still requires final polar alignment. More information about UACNJ including directions and a map can be found at www.erols.com/njastro |
